Welcome to the Faculty Page of the Project Upward Bound at East Stroudsburg University. The faculty page may include due dates for assignments, online resources that may help with assignments, practice/remedial activities, enrichment, helpful videos and other links.

Wikis are websites that are designed to enable users (YOU) to make additions or edit any page of the site. Wikis are designed to be user-friendly and allow the addition of links to other webpages, embedded videos and uploading of pictures and files (see an example here). Wikis have become an online extension of my classroom – engaging students in content outside of my classroom, offering enrichment and remedial activities for differentiated instruction (see an example) and even becoming a virtual "refrigerator door" that I can post student work on (see example).

Examples:
See Mrs. Post's Wiki Page for Advanced Math for example on how I used my wiki in my classroom
See Mrs. Post's "Making Math Meaningful" Wiki for more information on why to use a wiki

Teachers can include the following types of information on this page:
  • Daily or Weekly Assignment Lists
  • .pdf files of worksheets
  • links to helpful websites
  • embedded YouTube videos, PowerPoint slideshows, etc.

See the Student Technology Club page for an example of embedded content.

For More Information:

If you would like to be a part of the Upward Bound Faculty Wiki Project, please contact Kathy Post at 570-369-0044 or stampinpost@yahoo.com.

I can post information for you and/or show you how to post your own information.

Technology Integration:
Also, please let me know if you are interested in using technology in your teaching of your content area. My philosophy is not that you would use technology everyday, the entire class period, but that you would find "gems" of useful online content or software tools that would enhance and increase learning in your classroom using the one computer and projector you may have access to. I would love to be able to discuss your syllabus and try to find sources that may be helpful to you!

Alternative Student Projects:
As a technology specialist, I am particularly interested in helping students find ways to use the technology to learn and to present what they have learned. I would love to work with your students on creative projects using technology, including podcasts, audio-based PowerPoint, videos, digital photography, etc. as well as standard digital publishing tools such as word processing and desktop publishing so that students can create projects in a creative, 21st century way.
